I just can’t study. My entrance exams are right there and I don’t have an attention span of more than 10 minutes. I am not exaggerating, honestly. Any concrete tips on how to study without running towards browsing the internet every 10 mins would be really, really helpful.

Moving on to brighter things, here is the 15th book that I read as part of the Brunch Book Challenge and as I said, I’ll be logging my opinion about every book that I read as part of this challenge. In case you want to participate in this challenge too, read up about it here.

It is the English translation of Krishna Sobti’s Hindi novel – ‘Ai Ladki’ which literally translates to ‘Aye! Girl’ in English and hence, it got the name ‘Listen Girl’. I got this book from my mom’s office library simply because when she handed me the list with the titles of the books, this one sounded interesting.

This book is based on a very beautiful and touching topic, the relationship between a mother and a daughter but, I don’t know why, I did not quite enjoy reading it. I found it a little boring, honestly. However, since it is based on a heart-melting topic of the relationship between a mother and a daughter when the mother is on her death bed, I think you might like reading it. The lessons that the mother taught the girl when she was on her death bed are actually quite moving. This book covers few last days (or one day) before the death of the mother. The moments of the mother passing away were actually heart-wrenching. Moreover, it’s only a 104 pages book. 🙂 I was wondering if I would have enjoyed it more if I read the Hindi version, I don’t know. If any of you happen to read it, do share your experience. 🙂

PS: After using Google, I got to know that it is rumored to be written just after the death of the author’s own mother.
