Remember my post here about when I went to Janpath? Well, I saw a lady wearing the kurta (Indian tunic) shown below and I think it is a statement in itself. 🙂 Honestly, I have seen many quirky kurtas recently in metro and elsewhere, but I don’t quite like the fact that most of these are made of this thin, polyester-like fabric which, to me, looks a little cheapish but I understand that it is a matter of personal choice (and maybe, someday, I start liking this fabric myself 😛 considering the sheer number of prints thronging the market! ). However, I once remember seeing a woman wearing a kurta with stuff that’s usually written on trucks written all over it and it was not of this polyester-like fabric but of cotton-like fabric. That one looked really beautiful.
Anyway, I digress. Coming back to the kurta featured here, I don’t remember if it looked classy or not, but different (in a good way) it sure is! Have a look and tell me in comments what you think of it. I would love to know. 🙂
Oh yes it really looks different and Indian 🙂
Yeah Pratibha, i too think the same 😀
are you the girl inside the kurta?
I would love to wear something like that…but only if it is cotton. Polyester isn’t normally my choice of fabric either. Speaking of quirky kurtas, do you know about Khaadi? (http://www.khaadionline.com/)
I have checked Khaadi’s stuff in their stores, but not online. Will check out for sure. 🙂 I like polyester tops (the office blouse kinds) as long as they are soft, comfortable and not cheap-looking. For example, I have one from chemistry, looks super nice and classy. But not these kurtas that are available in that polyester-like material available everywhere.

the stuff is extremely, extremely beautiful although appears somewhat pricey for some things. But i realized that this is a different brand Khaadi, not the one that I was thinking to be.
Yep, the prices seem a lot more reasonable to me when they go on sale.
I wouldnot mind having a shirt like that 🙂 on a sunny warm day .. indian festival .. going there wearing this 🙂
at least the kurta will make me look good 🙂
Good to know that men also like experimenting! Great. 🙂

I agree about polyester! I like it only if its blousey. And if bought cheap, i think it stinks after 2-3 hours of wear. It doesnt do well in summer and with sweat.
it totally does. earlier I used to think that all polyester clothes have this problem but I really wanted to buy this chemistry top and did not want to spend money on it because I thought it would also be uncomfy but it is good quality polyester and hence, extremely soft and nice. Same goes for two more blouses from Van Heusen and Westside (Although usually westside doesn’t have good quality, but they are cheap and have quite a variety, so yeah 😛 )
Hi Srishty I have nominated you for one lovely blog award . I think you have a very interesting and of course a lovely blog 🙂
