The Catcher in the Rye: Book Opinion

Hi guys! 🙂

This is the second book that I read as part of the Brunch Book Challenge and as I said, I’ll be logging my opinion about every book that I read as part of this challenge. In case you want to participate in this challenge too, read up about it here.

Anyway, coming back to my opinion, I was not very captivated  by it. I know it is a classic but I did not find it a page-turner for myself. I know a lot of people who love this book. It may be an interesting read because of the humorous slang kind of language. The descriptions by the protagonist, about his confusions in life and things that irritate him or things that he totally adores, are funny but that is about it. I know it is not necessary for a novel to not have that ‘oooh what happens next’ feeling to be good, but somehow I expected that feeling from this book.

Although these book opinions are NOT meant to be spoilers at all, I would like to give away a little thing about the book. I already mentioned that it is written in a slang kind of language, which I found to be fun.

In the end, I would say you can read it considering it is a classic and loved by a lot of people, however I was not very captivated by it. I found it just a fine read.

Take care,

Srishty 🙂
