I joined my first job yesterday. If you read this post, kindly tell me honestly if you were excited about your day 1 at your first job (because I was in that phase where you tell yourself ” I wish I had had more fun in college and I wish I had more free days between college-ending & my joining date”). Come on, I hardly had a month.
Anyway, to cut the long story short, here is my list why I miss college (or why people generally miss college):
1. If you don’t want to attend a class, you don’t attend it or sleep through it or come late according to your own convenience but we all know how that works in an office. š
2. You fear a lot of things in college but when you are in a job, it is then when you realize how free you actually were in college. No responsibilities!
3. No matter how many food joints you have at your floor, there is no joy equivalent to running to the cheapest outlet around college for inexpensive food with your buddies. š
4. You always have to maintain decorum at office. ( You learnt how to kill it and bury it in college, right? :P)
5. Ok, this might not be true for all of us because for one, not all get a chance to work in the same city in which their college is. This is true for me though and when my cab crosses half of Delhi, I feel nostalgic at every freaking place because I have been there with my friends. The most random of places bring back huge memories.
6. In office, you are responsible for everything that you do. You are in a college too. But back then, you couldn’t care less. š
PS: My office is lovely and the building is so magnificent that I can’t put it in words how huge it is. Someone told me that it is equivalent to three football grounds. š
PPS: I just realized that I have only two personal photos on my blog till date and I am wearing the same t-shirt in both. Oh, and lucky is wearing the same shirt as well in both the photos.
Its the same with me. š¦
I wish college never ended. š
Btw the lucky she is talking about is me š
whom are you talking to luck? š
Wish you all the very best for ahead š

Hey Srishty !!! First Day and so many thots already !! I tell you, work for some time and then u you will understand how important it is to be accountable for something you do. Recognition will only come if u are accountable and mind you many people leave there jobs in big firms because they do not get work for which they are accountable, however they may be paying them..
PS. Just a little busy these days will catch up for coffee tomorrow at 10 AM.
Best of luck and remember i am always there.
Cheers !!
awww charvi di :* thank you so much for all this. your words really help, honestly. š and yes, one of the great things here is that you are always there. š
hahahah nice yaaar š š

For some reason I was feeling very uncomfortable when I entered college from school as according to me in college your responsibility starts without much freedom the thing which I hate the most. In job your responsibility further increases I agree but your freedom increases a lot as you are no longer dependent on your parents for money(a very very big thing). I was waiting for my college to get over and start on job.
š
So this is a pretty late comment, but brace yourself, those feelings are there to stay for a while!
I did not get over college for the longest time ever! (I have some days now also, where I just want to go back to college. It’s been 2 years since i left). But the only way you can actually make it better is make friends in your new office and a job you love. Once things start falling in place with this new life, you’l start enjoying it more and it’ll help, get over college.
That said, I don’t think anyone really gets over college 100%. Think: 40 year old uncles also many times, just talk about their college days with the whiskys in their hands.
Hehe! that is a sweet comment, sonia! and like always, your words are super soothing š
Aww! Glad to know! š Thanks!
I know you miss your college days but I am sure you love your new office too! š Thanks for the follow and I am very happy to have discovered your blog too! Keep sharing your thoughts! š
Hey! Thank you so much for all the encouraging words and appreciation.
I came across your blog through The Bangalore Snob. I knew I was in for a treat when I saw posts with Vintage-y Darjeeling pictures, tags like food, life in calcutta etc. š though honestly, I am yet to read those posts thoroughly. I wish to go through all these posts of yours asap. š
You’re most welcome to look through them all, and I hope to see more of your upcoming posts!! š
